Hot Water Solutions

Air Source Heat Pump

An Air Source All-in-One Heat Pump is an efficient, environmentally friendly solution for heating water that combines the functions of heating, storage, and circulation in a single unit. It uses ambient air as the primary energy source, extracting heat even in cooler climates to warm water for household or commercial use.

The system works by drawing in outdoor air through a heat exchanger, where the heat energy is transferred to a refrigerant. This refrigerant then circulates through a compressor, increasing its temperature and transferring it to the water within the tank.
How It Works
Heat Absorption: The heat pump unit absorbs heat from the surrounding air.
Compression: This heat is transferred to a refrigerant, which is compressed, raising its temperature.

Heat Transfer: The hot refrigerant then flows through a heat exchanger, transferring its heat to the water in the tank.

Cooling and Re-Circulation: The refrigerant cools down, returns to its liquid state, and the cycle repeats.

Advantages Over Traditional Solar Water Heaters

Operational in Low Sunlight Unlike traditional solar water heaters that rely heavily on sunlight, air source heat pumps can function efficiently even on cloudy days or at night, as they utilize ambient air temperature rather than direct solar radiation.
Consistent Performance in Varying Climates These systems are designed to work effectively across a range of temperatures, making them suitable for colder regions where traditional solar water heaters may struggle.
Space-Saving Design With an all-in-one design, these systems combine heating and storage in a compact unit, often requiring less installation space compared to solar panels and separate water storage tanks.
Energy Efficiency Air source heat pumps typically consume less energy than traditional electric or gas water heaters, and they offer greater efficiency by using renewable energy from the air. The pumps have a coefficient of performance (CoP) of 4. Meaning you will be saving over 70% of energy when compared to traditional solar water heaters with heating elements
Reduced Maintenance Traditional solar water heaters often require regular cleaning of panels and maintenance. In contrast, air source heat pumps generally require minimal upkeep and provide consistent performance over time.
